Growing up, Mike watched his grandfather—a traveling minister—move through life with a distinct style: a Stetson hat, cowboy boots, and a bolo tie. Those ties became a signature look that represented both Western heritage and personal character. That memory stuck.
Years later, after retiring from a long career that included business leadership and time as a medic, Mike began reflecting on how he wanted to spend the next chapter of his life. The answer was simple: create something meaningful that connects people.
The bolo tie was the perfect vehicle.

One of our most memorable experiences happened during the Hogeye Festival in Elgin. A visitor approached with a request: he wanted a bolo tie made from three stones that reminded him of his late father. Together, we designed a custom bolo that incorporated the stones along with the tips from his grandfather’s old bolo tie—carefully restored and integrated into the new piece. What resulted was far more than jewelry; it was a wearable tribute to family and memory.

Mike and his wife moved back to Elgin around 2020, returning to the town where she graduated high school. We quickly became part of the community, sharing our work at local events and placing our bolos in three different stores along Elgin’s historic Main Street.
